The Few And The Proud sales event is on the docket. This event is where you will need to buy 15 qualifying items from the marketplace. Upon your purchase of 15 qualifying items you will be awarded an Action-Packed.
Other loot items that will only be for a limited time include a Bootcamp, an Ex-Marine, an Armed Vest, and a Tuned-In.
Just more loot items that too many players will never see in their inventories.
Gaming companies, including Zynga, are among the first to test a new option for Facebook application developers. This new option is being dubbed as Facebook subscriptions. It’s purpose is to make payments for virtual goods easier for the gaming companies and Facebook.
This brings up the question; Will Facebook remain a free service? The answer is likely yes, it will. But, parts of it may soon cost a premium.
Facebook launches game subscriptions
Facebook noted on their developer blog: "Many developers successfully monetize their apps with one-time purchases of virtual items. Beginning in July, we are launching subscriptions as another way for you to build your businesses on Facebook. With subscriptions, you can establish a recurring revenue stream and offer updated content or premium experiences for a monthly fee."

Update: Zynga has given us this statement regarding Facebook subscriptions:
"Zynga supports any improvement to the Facebook platform and player experience that makes it easier to play and pay. We're proud of the long term partnership we have with Facebook and today's announcement doesn't change the economic relationship between the two companies. We'll be working with Facebook over the coming months as they phase out Facebook credits and will be sharing more details on this when we report our Q2 earnings, including any possible changes to our accounting going forward after the implementation of the announced changes."
"We believe Facebook's new payment product to support pricing in local currency will streamline payment methods on their Platform and ultimately offer more flexible pricing options. And, while its early days, we are looking forward to be bringing players more options to engage in our games through our subscription model and have already begun testing subscriptions in a number of our games on Facebook."

Remember, both Facebook and Zynga (and many other companies who have apps on Facebook) now have shareholders to make happy. The only way the shareholders will be made happy is if the companies are profitable.
Therefore, It is no longer about providing you with good services. It has become about finding new ways of making money. They are trying to sell you what they can anyway they can and they would sell you the air that you breath if they could.
There is a bunch of loot that had been added to the inventory today. The irony is that I had checked for new loot in the inventory around 6 AM (EDT) and found none. So I went fishing and returned home at 2 PM (EDT). I’m still catching up with all the new stuff.
Among the loots that had been added to the inventory are a whole bunch of loots that have the word ‘Hydraulic’ within the names. Here’s a look;
The items include Hydraulic Cannons and Hydraulic Hippos that range from Bronze level to Emerald level. There is also a Hydraulic Cylinder that is an extra item (or consumable).
If there weren’t Emerald items we would speculate these being part of a secret district. Then again, they would not be classified as ‘Special Event’.
We could also speculate that these loots may have something to do with the ‘Raven’ returning. Thanks to our question in the Q and A we do know The Raven will be returning. Is this part of it? We don’t know for sure.
Will the Boss Fights return to Mafia Wars (like Lily 'o The Valley)? In addition, will the top rewards (w/ 200+ Att/Def) become more achievable? Too many players have never witnessed anyone in their family ever receiving one.

Since we have the family module, Will we ever see a family mission or quest where different members within a given family will have different tasks to complete separate from other family members but all contribute to the same family mission?

That's a fantastic idea. Families are a very important aspect of the game for us. We have been thinking along similar lines. Can't promise you a timeline/ release date for this feature, but stay tuned. And help us make the game better!

The Hydraulic loot items could be for something completely new and different. However, do not suspect for one second that things like Ice Seasons and Mafia Poker are forgotten. 
In fact, I am expecting both to return to us soon.

How the Deals work
1. Unlock a better deal for each day, for the next seven days.
2. Each deal offers you more items for the same price: Day 1 Deal has 1 item for 40 Reward Points; Day 5 Deal has 5 items for 40 Reward Points.
3. Once unlocked, you can purchase a particular deal as long as you have purchased at least one more previous deal.
Example: In order to buy 2 of the Day Three deal, you need to have purchased 2 of the Day Two deal.
4. This event will end on 29th June at 7:59 (PDT).
