Job Board 2 Soon

The Job Board will be making it’s second appearance in Mafia Wars as soon as tonight or early in the morning. Your location may even be in the afternoon when the Job Board becomes active. Just expect to see it soon.

If you happen to be at the top of your Family Rankings when this Job Board closes you will be awarded a Double Up Loot item.

If you happen to be at the top of the Global Rankings when this Job Board closes (good luck in that happening for the vast majority of us) you will be awarded a Gentoo Penguin Loot item.

First
Second
Third

Pending where you place in the top 3 will determine the stats of the Gentoo Penguin that you receive.

We’ll just say congratulations now to the winners because I know I don’t have a chance of winning either.

Since they still help me I’ll just try to collect as many Five Stars as I can as they drop from jobs.

Famiglia (Lynda Ann Sala) 21 Gun Salute - RIP

Lynda Ann Sala’s (aka Famiglia) husband, Sam Smith, notified us that Lynda had a stroke in late January and that she had been in a coma.

We were all hoping that she would recover and that she would be back with us playing Mafia Wars and socializing. It just wasn’t meant to be.

On February 1, 2013 Mafia Spirit lost our dear friend, Lynda Ann Sala.

From now until midnight (11:59 pm EST) Sunday February 10th we are hosting a 21 gun salute in honor of Lynda Ann Sala by posting an ice on the Mafia Spirit Community Page.  If you wish to pay your respects and send your condolences we are asking that you visit the Mafia Spirit Community Page and post an ice. *You may need to ask to join the page. We hope you all stop by and post an ice. Sam and all of Mafia Spirit will be happy to see you there.

Survey; Vote For The Next City

If you could choose the next city in Mafia Wars, which would you choose?

You now have an opportunity to at least help Zynga decide which city may be developed to be the next city in Mafia Wars. On the Mafia Wars Fanpage Zynga is asking players to take part in the Mafia Wars Next City Survey 2013. Zynga has provided you with 11 cities to choose from. These 11 cities are;

• Amsterdam, Netherlands
• Dubai, UAE
• Hong Kong, China
• Istanbul, Turkey
• Johannesburg, South Africa
• Mexico City, Mexico
• Morocco, North Africa
• Mumbai, India
• Paris, France
• Prague, Czech Republic
• Shanghai, China

Zynga also asks you to pick your second choice. I assume that’s in the event of a tie.

If you didn’t notice there are no choices for any cities in the USA. Of course with New York, Las Vegas, and Chicago the USA is already well represented.

The 11 cities that we are provided with to choose from may leave many players disappointed since many want to see their locations represented.

The problem with something like this is that certain players or groups might push for what they want. This was a HUGE problem during the New Years Resolution Event at the end of 2011. It leaves many players cold and out in the cold and we start to feel that this is their game so why are we playing.

Mafia Spirit asks that you vote for which city you want to see in Mafia Wars and to not just to be a follower and support someone else’s agenda. Make the game a game again and STOP letting it be controlled by a select few.

Mafia Wars Next City Survey 2013

to go to the survey

You might be curious about our thoughts of which city should be in Mafia Wars. For me, personally, I believe that the game should have many more cities (destinations) than it does. Choices are a good thing. Consider that every time Zynga closes cities the game appears to lose players.

It is my belief that the locations should include what one would consider as being notorious for organized crime.

If you consider what crystalkiss.com lists as the largest Mafia’s in the world (listed below) then I would say these locations should most assuredly be include in the game as destinations.

1. Russian Mafia
2. Sicilian and American Cosa Nostra (Also known as the Italian Mafia)
3. Colombian Drug Cartel
4. Chinese Triads
5. Japanese Yakuza
6. Mexican Mafia
7. Israeli Mafia
8. Serbian Mafia
9. Albanian Mafia
10. Jamaican-British Yardies

No matter which city wins the votes or ends up in the game we hope that NO city will be closed. In fact, we still want Italy, Moscow, Cuba, and Bangkok back. The various destinations gave the game depth and direction. Players had something to work towards. There was purpose.

Iceboard Ices Have Been Iced And Reset

Is, was, isn’t, is now? Say what?

How many ices do you have? I don’t know.

Surprise fellow Mafia Bosses, Zynga blundered something again. The post button in your Content Management System (CMS) means that the event is going to be live and active as soon as you click it. But I can only assume that your CMS works about as effectively as the game itself does when accidentally clicking the buy button on our end does. Hmmm?

So that we are up to speed, the Iceboard was released around 12 pm EST today (9 am PST). We were so overjoyed by it’s release [1]. Now those images we posted are outdated since someone in your office didn’t drink their coffee. Their jittery fingers clicked something that reset the feature (Likely posted over the original release).

Now, how are we supposed to know who actually is leading on the Iceboards?

Oh well. It is at least entertaining to watch the Fubar game in action.
