Zynga has announced that there have been updates made to the fight feature in Mafia Wars. Here is a reprint from the Official Mafia Wars Blog;
Dear Mafia Wars Players,
We have recently made a gameplay change in Mafia Wars. This will ensure that no players have unfair advantage while fighting in the game.
We have brought the size of batch attacks done by scripts at par with the maximum batch size possible with rapid clicking manually. Please note that the damage-to-stamina ratio remains the same as before.
We hope this change will make the game more enjoyable for you!

I am not sure what this means nor do I know how it will affect the game. So far I, personally, have found no difference in my game play.
