Close The Investigation

Maybe everyone has been too busy with all the events and sales and jobs and repeat to have noticed that a well known companies logo has been in the game since London’s Collateral Damage district was added to the game in April 2012.

The last job in the district is called ‘Close The Investigation’.

The image above depicts a case file where the user is being given the option to delete the files data. But look closer. Look at the model of the computer that this user is using.

Maybe noone noticed. Until now. Maybe they did notice and didn’t care. Maybe Dell decided it was free publicity and that they might sell some computers to some Mafia Wars players who might want to use the same brand of computers that the Mafia Wars developers use.

Maybe Dell paid Zynga for the logo to be placed on the image or within the game. Who knows?

Let The Ices Begin

Let The Ices Begin.

It should be called something lore like let the script users and cheaters begin icing their mini accounts. Players aren’t thrilled about such an event as this one. There is a thread on the Mafia Wars forums where players are  already posting their concerns about this this event.

When Harry Balzac refers to the last time I believe he is referring to the EPIC FAIL of the Death By Ice Event which took place in June 2011. 

There was a lot of controversy about that event and many players quit playing Mafia Wars as a result. Many fear that this will simply be a repeat of that FAILED event.

The Let The Ices Begin event appears to be nearly identical to Death By Ice in most ways. The only noticeable difference is that in the Death By Ice event families needed to get 10,000 ices to receive a gold level Ma and 30,000 to receive a ruby level Ma. In the Let The Ices Begin event the gold and ruby level ice requirement total has been lowered, as you can see in the image below.

Mobsters,
Many of you who participated and enjoyed last year’s family icing event requested us to bring back this feature in Mafia Wars once again.

Thank you for your suggestion. We are pleased to announce that the Family Icing event is back!
This icing mastery event will pit Families against each other in a competition to determine which is the strongest in Mafia Wars.

Family members will need to work together to ice enough players throughout the week to earn four levels of mastery items. Extra rewards will be given to the top 10 Families, so start working on your strategy to help your Family dominate in this test of power!

Each time your Family hits an icing mastery tier, every member of the Family will receive the mastery item. All ices done in Fighting during the event will count towards your Family’s icing mastery.

Family Mastery Reward: Pointed Threesome

Bonus Prizes for the Top Families

The winners will receive their rewards by end of 8/22/2012 PST.

This event ends on 8/21/2012 at 23:59 PST. Get your families together and ice as many people as you can to demonstrate your collective might.

You can follow the families who are leading the event with the most ices on the leaderboard. In other words, you can watch the script users and cheaters at play. 

Most families in Mafia Wars don’t have a chance in hell of ever making it onto the leaderboard so we’ll simply do what we can and have the attitude if we get the ruby level Pointed Threesome we’ll be happy (sort of).
