It Has Been Made Public That 3 Of The Informant Podcast (Episode 149 minute mark 29:20) Team Members Are Members Of The New PAC (Players Advisory Committee). One Is A Developer For The Spockholm Scripts. One Is A Popular Blog Writer. And The Other Is A Close Friend Of Theirs (Not Sure How She Is Connected Other Than The Podcast).
Zynga Gave Us Clues In The Second Paragraph On The Official Mafia Wars Blog Post That Informed Us About The New PAC. The Second Paragraph Reads:
Members of the PAC will represent the voice of the larger community & report their questions, concerns and suggestions to Zynga. This information is gathered from various sources wich include, but not limited to, the forums, the PAC members, chat conversations, facebook walls, and various other locations where players communicate with each other. The PAC will also will also help the Mafia Wars team fix bugs and glitches within the game.
This Information Is Quite Interesting Since It Is Known That At Least A Couple Of The Podcasters Were Members Of PAC1. And It Failed. And We Once Again Hold Our Mafia Wars Gaming Experience In Their Opinions Of The Game.
This Leaves Me, And Many Others, Wondering Even Moreso About The Fate Of Those Of Us Who Make Up 97% Of The Smaller Community. In Other Words, Those Of Us Who Don’t Spend Real Money On The Game. Who Is Representing Us? Who Has Our Best Interests In The Game At Heart?
At Minute 30:29 Of The Podcast Jennifer Patterson States, “That The Problem With The First PAC Was That There Was A Lot Of Animosity Because They Were Un-accessible And I Think The Mindset Needs To Change.”
Since The Mindset Of Players Was That The Original PAC Was Un-accessible Then Shouldn’t You Be Thinking That Hiding Them And Communication With Them A Second Time Around Would Mean Imminent Failure For PAC2 Since It Is Already Following The Same Path As PAC1?
The Question Has Been Brought Forward On The Zynga Forums In The Thread Called ‘Who Is PAC?’. Players Want To Know That They Are Being Represented Fairly And Equally And Once Again We Don’t Have That. Once Again It Appears That This Is A Game For The ‘Elite’! Once Again The Regular Player Appears To Not Have A Voice!
I Agree That Changes Are Needed To Where A Larger Voice Is Heard. And Not Just A Select Few. Especially Not Just The Select Few That Have Already Failed Us Once And Has Left The Game Millions Of Players Down From What It Once Was. How Can We, The Working Class Who Love The Game Too, Entrust Our Desires, Likes, Dislikes, And Opinions About The Game In Them? They Had Their Chance Once, And Blew It!
Pistol Pete, Of The Informant Podcast Said On Episode 149, That Zynga Is Trying To Make A Profit On The Game. We Don’t Take Issue With That Except For Too Many Players Are Being Left Out In The Cold And Simply Can Not Afford To Keep Up. Ultimately Many Of These Players Quit Playing As A Result. The Real Fact Of The Matter Is That For This Game, And Any Other Online Game, To Succeed And Flourish It Needs A Strong Player Base And Mafia Wars Is Failing.
If Zynga And Mafia Wars Is To Continue Moving Forward It Needs To Step Back A Year Or So. Zynga Needs To Make Things Achievable Without The Use Of Scripts And Within A Reasonable Time Frame. Adding Cities To The Travel Bar Would Be A Great Solution To Draw Players Back Into The Game. Players Need A Reason To Play The Game As Much As Zynga Needs Reasons For Them To Purchase RP’s.
In Conclusion, It Is Clear The Same Problem Is Already Going To Plague PAC 2 As It Did In PAC1. Too Many Players Aren’t Going To Be Heard Since PAC2 Is A Smaller Version (Allegedly) Of PAC1. The Same Group Of PAC Members Equates To The Same Failed Ideologies And The Same Problems. If You Wanted, Zynga, To Make A New PAC Then You Should Have Had New PAC Members. Otherwise, It Is Just More Of The Same That Has Already Driven So Many Players Away From The Game.
