Iceboard Ices Have Been Iced And Reset

Is, was, isn’t, is now? Say what?

How many ices do you have? I don’t know.

Surprise fellow Mafia Bosses, Zynga blundered something again. The post button in your Content Management System (CMS) means that the event is going to be live and active as soon as you click it. But I can only assume that your CMS works about as effectively as the game itself does when accidentally clicking the buy button on our end does. Hmmm?

So that we are up to speed, the Iceboard was released around 12 pm EST today (9 am PST). We were so overjoyed by it’s release [1]. Now those images we posted are outdated since someone in your office didn’t drink their coffee. Their jittery fingers clicked something that reset the feature (Likely posted over the original release).

Oh well. It is at least entertaining to watch the Fubar game in action.

Iceboard Returns – Whoopty Doo

The Iceboard has returned. And once again I am NOT INTERESTED!!

Just more loots that I don’t have a chance in hell of ever seeing in my inventory, so I repeat myself when I say “why bother?'”.

And here’s a good example as to why I don’t care about these types of events;

Within just 1 hour into this event we can already see players icing nearly 2500 opponents. Something that is impossible for most players to accomplish on a normal day. How fun is it to watch others dominate these events time and again? Not very!

Like most players our best chance to any reward is to be #1 on the Family Iceboard Leaderboard. And that can be nearly impossible for many if we have strong players within our own families. So, again, why bother trying?

When all is said and done it is very likely that the usual suspected players will win even more rewards making them even stronger thus strengthening the sentiment of why are the rest of us even playing this bogus game?

Anyway, I’ll sit back, as usual, and watch the same players win these rewards;

On February 14, 1929, St. Valentine's Day, five members of the North Side Gang, plus gang collaborators Reinhardt H. Schwimmer and John May, were executed inside a Chicago garage that was located at 2122 North Clark Street, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of  North Side. The tragic event became known as ‘The Saint Valentine's Day Massacre’.  

The event conjoined the Mafia with Valentines Day.

In 2010 Zynga connected Mafia Wars to the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre for the first time. Many of you may remember the Mafia Wars Valentine’s Day Event. Here’s a blast from the past;

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Mafia Wars is getting ready to lavish you with cool new game updates for our Valentine’s Day Event starting Tuesday, February 9th. First off is a new featured job – the Valentine’s Day Massacre.  This featured job will be played similarly to NYE featured job – it’ll be broken up into three special jobs for you to choose from that each have timers, and you’ll be awarded with  unique Valentine’s Day bonuses for each stage you complete. Finish the featured job for a cool mastery item! Because we want everyone to feel the love and get the mastery item from the event, we’ll be offering some extra help. You’ll be able to use Reward Points to speed up the job timers, and will also have the option to ask for help from your mafia.

In 2012 players were offered a Valentine’s Day Massacre 7 day sale.

 

In 2011 Mafia Wars players were able to participate in the ‘Love And War’ Gifting Event.

Although one might believe there is a connection between the saying ‘Love And War’ and the ‘Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre’ there is not. According to Wikipedia the term ‘Love And War’ originated as an anti-war slogan which, in it’s entirety, read ‘Make Love, Not War’. The slogan was first printed for a Mother's Day Peace March in 1965 in Chicago, Illinois.

It is now 2013 and Zynga has recently added some peculiar loots to the inventory that, almost certainly, will be for another Valentine’s Day Massacre Sale. No ‘new’ images have been found yet on the servers for this 7 day sale. It is possible that Zynga will decide to reuse the images from the 2012 Valentine’s Day Massacre 7 Day Sales Event. The Loots for this upcoming 7 day sale include a Struck Out, Decaying, Whiffed Away, Roadkill (Our favorite), Blind Date, Thorn Apart, and Red-back Spider.

Start saving those RP’s if you want to get some of these goodies.

I would like to congratulate the winners of this event.

However, if you are like me you NEVER get overly excited about ANY event that involves competing to finishing number one. That includes IceBoards, JobBoards, and Bang Your Head Boards. Why? You may ask. Because all you see is the same players or families at the top of every one of these types of events. They aren’t fun for ALL the players of Mafia Wars. They only favor a select few players or groups of the game. If I have NO CHANCE  then why bother? These types of events only succeed at alienating too many players from the game. 

We scratch our heads and wonder why players have left this game in droves. One reason is the simple fact of the unfair nature of the events within the game. One works hard and plays for countless hours day end and day out to what end?

I would post a list of things I would do to fix the issues with Mafia Wars, but why bother? Zynga won’t listen and too many players want what they want without consideration to cause and effect. The game is dying and it just might be for the best.

The Classic Crates Loots

If you are like me then you love the classics. I love everything from classic cars to classic movies to classic TV shows to classic rock.

Zynga will soon be honoring the classics with the Classic Crates.

The images of the crates are supposed to look vintage. They kind of look something like from the 1920’s or the silent movie era. But they leave bit to be desired. I’m just sayin’ they could have been better.

Most players don’t really care about the theme’s of these crates. They do care about what’s in them and whether or not they’ll be able to get the loots into their inventories. Here’s a look at the loots that likely will be contained within the Classic Crates;

Cool, the arrangements have been made and I’m to rendezvous with Nurse Nicolasa soon. I hear she’s a real Red-Tailed Amazon and her tolerance level is a sized zero. She don’t fool around. She’s straight-forward and all business.

Surgical Gloves 00 The Surgical Gloves are the EXTRA item for the Face It secret district. There are no skill set attributes associated with these EXTRA loot items. They are considered to be consumable items because you need to collect at least 1 in order to complete a job or attack the boss. Many times you need to collect hundreds of EXTRA items to complete the secret districts.
