Family Progression Update
Earlier today, the {ASS} Family reached Level 7 on Family Progression. The Craftsman Perk gives you a 10% chance of looting double property parts. How lame is that? Of all the perks, this one takes the booby prize. Anytime Zynga uses the word "chance", you can count on it being worse than advertised.
With a new level comes a new piece of the puzzle. Team Spockholm created a Family Experience bookmarklet which reads the back code and will tell you exactly how much Family Experience is needed to advance to the next level. Here are the numbers for Level 7.
Now Zynga did throw us a bone and they posted the numbers we asked for(1). The problem is they all don't match what is written in the back code of the game. These numbers appear to be rounded estimates. That may be good enough for the farmers but Mafia Wars is a statistics driven game and the players prefer exact numbers.
Here is a comparison of what Zynga tells us versus what we actually see in the game. The numbers in red are estimates made by Eike of Team Spockholm. With the additional information, he was able to find a pattern and is confident that these numbers are accurate. In a perfect world without bugs, a Family with 100 members who perform 100% of the tasks every day (or week), it would take 206 days to get to Level 10. Go here for a more detailed explanation of all these numbers and estimates from Eike.
