Leave it to Zynga and listening to too many whiners. They have nerfed the ‘Design Your Crate Contest’ and have released a new shortlisted survey. The new survey will be open from 11 June 2012 to 12 June 2012 11.59pm PST and can be found Here.
The nerfing happened because within the rules of the contest Zynga stated the following;
Submitting your theme
Have you thought of the theme? Get Started then.
Step 1: You could create the concept using the image editing tools or you could also describe the concept. For creating your crate, use Paint or PhotoShop or any other kind of image editing program, you have installed on your computer. Experiment with colors, concepts, items, or even accessories. You could also describe the concept.
The original survey shown one of the choices as a Jesus Christ Crate (Original survey shown below).
If you look at the new survey (Shown below) you will see the Jesus Christ Crate has been removed.
Really Zynga? Why did you remove the Jesus Christ Crate selection? Because it offended someone? Really? I’m sorry, but if the suggested Jesus Christ Crate offended you then why are you even playing a game that is all about crime, thievery, killing, stealing, etc? This game should offend you!
Then there’s the second nerf. And that is that jennichristie (who made the suggestion) now has a legitimate complaint. Jennichristie followed the rules, for one. In addition, if she (assuming Jennichristie is a she) has been determined to have not followed the rules then what is the difference between her suggested Jesus Christ Crate and the Russian Doll Crate?
Jesus Christ and his cross the ultimate power
My idea is a crate shaped like a Russian Doll... I dont have the skills to do decent artwork, but i am sure you can do that if you like the idea!
In fact, Jennichristie’s suggestion was more descriptive since it contained at least 1 loot suggestion. Shouldn’t both suggestions have been removed? Why not?
Your definition of nerf is all wrong, go look it up in the urban dictionary. The Jesus Christ crate won the first vote but zynga for obvious reasons couldn't use it so a second vote was made.
ReplyDelete1. nerfed
Deletesomething that worked at one time, but was changed (usually for the worse) by someone who did not understand that particular thing's usefulness.
2. Nerfed
To make something pointless whereas before it was productive
3. Nerf
to render anything less powerful or useful.
See more words with the same meaning: to break, ruin, destroy.
4. Nerf (video gaming)
In video gaming a nerf is a change to a game that reduces the desirability or effectiveness of a particular game element. The term is also used as a verb for the act of making such a change.
Now that we have all had our Language Lessons for today let us review how what I stated was a nerf;
1. Is this not a video game? If it is not then NOTHING in it EVER gets nerfed!
2. The contest and/or survey was for THIS game in addition to being a mini game in and of itself! Was it not?
3. Was the Crate Contest not changed?
4. If for 'Obvious' reasons the Jesus Christ Crate suggestion should not have been included then why was it originally and then subsequently removed?
If you add all this up it WAS A NERF! Period!
Onto more about your claims as to the Jesus Christ Crate winning the first contest....you know, the pre-nerf version....
What proof do you have that the Jesus Christ Crate won? Do you have inside information because you are a PAC member or you work for Zynga? How can we believe you when you posted Anonymously and got the definition of Nerf wrong?
