South Africa – The Guided Tour (Part 1) The Opening

 

 

Who knows what awaits in the wild.

Springbok’s jump for joy as they log into Mafia Wars today. The Safari guides get busy gathering their maps as the tourists prepare themselves for the days adventures.

Make sure you have plenty of RP because South Africa has been released.

As you log into Mafia Wars for the first time today you should be greeted with the following image;

Upon clicking the enter button you should be welcomed for completing the Dust To Diamonds Quest. You should also collect your Wild Beast and 600 Rand.

Upon clicking the ‘continue’ button you are greeted with a map of South Africa. You are asked to click on the map to visit the Cape Town region.

Upon clicking the map you are taken to the Western Cape region of South Africa.

By clicking on any of the 5 encircled images on the map you will be redirected to the jobs page.

In South Africa there is one job image for a pair of jobs.

Certain jobs will require the purchase of certain loots before you can proceed. The 2nd job, Steal The Cargo Of Diamonds, requires the purchase of 2 Code-Eina at a cost of 18 Rand. The same job also drops a loot (Kuba Cap) that will be required for the completion of additional jobs. ** Some players are acquiring 30 Kuba Caps from their notifications on Facebook. Of course many players don’t get these free gifts. So much for a fair and level playing field.

 

As you complete the jobs the map will reflect your progress

As you complete the first region you will be rewarded with a Paso-Pop and a Vault Code.

You will also unlock the second region – The Limpopo River.

Ice Season 29

Ice Season 29 is underway. The reward for acquiring 8, 25, 80, 180 and 1000 ices is a Cambodian Snake of Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby, or Diamond level respective to the number of ices acquired.

Each tier of also rewards the follow loots, RP’s, or skill points.

South Africa Job Images Preview?

 

Zynga has released another teaser on the Official Mafia Wars Blog within a post titled New Destination Coming Soon. The Post reads as follows;

We all know how excited you are about the New Destination, and have been waiting eagerly to hear more on this.

The good news is that the New Destination in Mafia Wars will be Coming Soon! So, in the meantime, hold on to your horses and check out some of the awesome art work that will be released with this.

These are possible Job images and could be 1 from the first three regions, districts, or Provinces (whichever name Zynga decides to use).

Now in color - You might recall the third image. It was originally the third teaser and was called PragueSplash_LandingPage_BG1.

It is a nice follow up to our posts we called The Road To South Africa and Rand Rand Everywhere Rand (which showed the first images of South Africa). Our post Dust To Diamonds – A South Africa Pre-Release Event included the song Africa, by Toto, and a larger image of the Rand (which is now being circulated by others).

Black And White Sale

It's as plain as black and white. Grab these clear cut deals!

Yes, it is plain as Black and White. And it is a sale. But, clear cut deals? I don’t think so. The loots cost the same as they have in any other sale similar to this one. They cost 35 RP or $8.33 in real money at full price per loot (currently at 40% off the loots cost equates to about $5.00 per loot). If you wait until the RP is 50% off it will still cost about $4.17 in real money to purchase these loots.

 

The Special Loots that can only be purchased during this sale include a Colorblinder, a Domino Shield, aWalliser, and a Zebra Crossing.

Keep in mind that only Items selling in the Marketplace are eligible for this reward. In addition, Items selling for less than 5 RP, such as Treasure Chest Items and Skill Point Reallocation, do not count towards the prize.

When you make enough ‘qualifying’ purchases you will also earn a Hog Nosed Skunk. I thought I smelled something.
