Find Out When & What Information Zynga is Accessing About You
Recently, many players had to re-grant permission to Mafia Wars to gain access to your Facebook information. This is because there was an update. Here are screen shots of what was required before and what is required now.
Find Mafia Wars and click on "Edit".
Now: 4 Required Items
Then: 2 Required Items
Mafia Wars also requests that you give them permission to access other information but it can be removed.
You Can Access This On Your Facebook Wall On The Left Side Of Your Screen Where Your Apps Are Located. Hover Your Mouse Over Where You Access Mafia Wars And A Pencil Like Icon Appears. Click On The Pencil Icon To Bring Up A Dialog Box That Allows You To Add To Favorites, Edit Settings And Remove App.
From Here Skip To The Fourth Picture Down. Or You Can Get To Your Application Settings Page, By going to your Account Menu and selecting Account Settings.
Select Applications located in the upper left hand corner.
You can see what information you allowed Mafia Wars to access and remove what you don't wish them to have access to. What's really interesting is there is a way to see what they have been accessing. Towards the bottom there is an option that says "Last data access".
Click on "See details" to find out how much spying Zynga has been doing.
You might be surprised by what you find. Your access log will list when Zynga went snooping in your Facebook account and what they were looking at. Why do they need to know all this and more importantly what are they doing with this information?
