If you are looking for true ‘In-Game’ evidence about the negative affects that the declining player base is having on the game then look at the list of Past Jackpot Winners of the Lucky Stash.
If you look closely at the list above then you will see that it has been more than a year since a Lucky Stash winner has won more than 70,000 RP’s. In addition, there has not been 2 Jackpot winners in the same month since August 2nd and 23rd in 2011.
The current Jackpot is sitting around 22,800+ RP’s.
It has now been 3 weeks since the last Jackpot winner won the Jackpot on June 29th, 2012.
June 20th, (a month ago) was the last time the DAU has seen 400,000 Daily Users of Mafia Wars. According to AppData.com The DAU has been as low as 340,000 4 times during the past month. This occurred on July 6th, 7th, 8th, and 16th. Currently the DAU sits at 360,000.
It almost appears that Zynga is deliberately trying to drive down the player base. I guess they think we will go play the Ville instead.
Maybe some will long enough to get the Ville-ocity…… Maybe some won’t bother. Maybe some will quit playing ALL Zynga’s games.
And then it will be too late for the brain surgeons that work at Zynga to realize that if you want to make money and generate that revenue that makes your shareholder’s happy you NEED PLAYERS! AND NOT JUST THE ONES WITH CREDIT CARDS!
