Because Zynga cares sooo much about its player base they continue to release these events that only a very few players have a chance to win. I guess I shouldn’t whine, gripe, or complain too much because those players do need reasons to continue to play this game too. We’ll let them have at it.
The rewards that we’ll, or at least I’ll, be missing out on once again are a Typhoon Rider and the Metal Spine.
When the event ends the top Icer in each family will be rewarded with a Metal Spine. This hardly seems fair to players who may have thousands of ices yet finish 2nd or lower in their families while some players may not have as many ices yet finish first in their families Iceboard Leaderboard’s.
The Typhoon Rider will be rewarded to the top 3 leaders on the Global Leaderboard when the event ends.
If you are interested in watching the Global Leaderboard there really isn’t much to watch. Even if/when we see new leaders on the Global Leaderboards the players still usually are members of the same families that other/former leaders were members of. Not too exciting if you ask me.

These events truly aren’t very competitive. They are usually more like blow-out’s. Many players haven’t even gotten out of bed yet and the leaders had already accrued 12,000 + ices in under 4 hours. That’s an average of 3,000 + ices an hour.
Wouldn’t it be nice to see what would happen if these events started at differing times once in a while? Would we see different players on top of the Leaderboards? Would more players try harder? We may never know the answers to these questions because Zynga seems to have it’s group of favorite players. The rest of us are just hear to be the whipping posts for the elite.
That leaves us with the option of seeing How Low Can We Go?
